Cooking Area?

1,080 sq. in. across three racks — 443 sq. in. of solid grilling on the bottom rack, plus 384 and 253 sq. in. up top. Both upper racks lift out: take them off and you can fit two 14-lb turkeys side by side, or a single bird up to 20 lbs under the 11-in. lid. In a single cook, that's enough for 2 full-size packer briskets, 3 large pizzas or 10 racks of pork ribs.

What can it cook?

Low-and-slow favorites — brisket, pork shoulder and ribs — plus chicken, sausage, pizza, roasts or even a loaf of bread at higher temperatures. Add the optional griddle plate and you can sear a steak or cook bacon and eggs for breakfast.

What provides the heat?

Compressed hardwood pellets. At low temperatures they smolder and release the smoke that gives barbecue its flavor; at high temperatures they burn clean and hot, with little to no visible smoke.

Does it use gas or electricity?

No gas at all. A small amount of electricity runs the controller, fan and auger — the pellets do the cooking.

Easy to clean?

Very. Line the grease tray with foil and the drips lift straight out. Ash empties through the slide-out cleanout, and the pellet dump clears or swaps pellets in seconds — vacuum the fire pot after a long cook and you're done.
