Z GRILLS 11002b Unboxing Assembly | YOUR STEP BY STEP HOW TO GUIDE
FAQS
Can I use the Z Grills App without being connected to the internet?
Yes, you can. However, when you use the App for the first time, you need to connect it to the grill controller with a WiFi connection and then register and save the account information on the App.
Can you operate this smoker manually or is it only done through the App?
How is the online exclusive edition 11002B at zgrills.com?
Can I sear on a Z Grills?
Yes, you can. Searing occurs in the area of meat that touches the hot grate where the temperature is between 350-500 °F. So it’s easy to achieve a perfect sear with Z Grills.
For searing meat over an open flame, Z Grills 600 series of pellet grills provide a direct flame mode that reaches a high searing temperature of up to 750 °F.
Does everything put on a Z Grills get that rich smoky flavor?
Cook all your favorite recipes on the Z Grills, because everything that can be cooked, will taste better cooked with a savory, smoky flavor. Smoke will be visible in cycles at temperatures of less than 250°F, infusing rich smoky flavor to your food. Above this temperature the fire will burn hotter and cleaner with less smoke.
How long does it take to assemble a Z Grills pellet grill?
Z Grills pellet grills are easy to assemble with all the tools supplied. All you need is open space and about 30-60 minutes on your hand.
Can I get a thermal blanket for the 11002B grill?
No need for one! The 11002B grill comes with double-walled insulation, keeping the heat steady in all weathers, so you're all set without a thermal blanket. Thanks for your query!

After 2 years Review
Overall I love this smoker. It honestly deserves a 5 star review for the smoke portion, size and ability to hold temperature. And unlike some other reviewers I have used the heck out of this thing. 10 if not 20 or more briskets, plenty of slabs of ribs, 10 or more beef ribs, turkeyz, chicken, etc. The only negatives I point out are so that zgrill will improve the next generation of this grill. So here we go. The full length shelf is nice in theory but the fact I can't put a cookie sheet or even a plate in front on the shelf because it is not deep enough without worrying about either it topping off when I let it go or the handle smushing whatever is in the plate when I close the lid makes me say, please add a deeper shelf in the front, even it it folds down out of the way. Second, the app does not alert when my meat gets to temp and overall could use some work, also does not let me start the grill from there which would be nice. Third, it takes a while to get up to temp if you are trying to do steaks or something high heat and definitely does not get a good sear. It does get hot but just doesn't get that same grill mark and crispiness you might want to get at times. I end up using my regular grill for anything I want cooked at 350 or more at this point in that manner. Having a way to open up the flame and get a good sear on a steak or crisp up chicken at the end would be nice. Fourth, would be nice to add a shelf underneath to store items, even if that was an accessory sold separately. Other than those it has been a great pellet grill and holds heat excellent and still working great after 2 years!
Multitasker 11002b
Let me start by saying, I do like this grill. I have only smoked a stuffed pork **** and a brisket so far but it did both extremely well. The only complaints I have are, the lid sits a little crooked and isn't flush, a couple of welds on the lid are leaking some smoke, and one of the legs is shorter than the others. For how much this grill cost, I expected a little better quality control. If not for these issues it would be a solid 5 stars. The grill cooks very well.
Grill upgrade went smoothly from delivery to first brisket!
We upgraded our first Z Grill to the much bigger WiFi version (the 11002B Multi-tasker) as a Christmas gift to each other, and we couldn’t be more pleased! From delivery, to assembly, to our first brisket—smooth as can be. Super impressed with how steady the temp holds, even in our snowy, windy PNW winter weather! The probes have also been accurate and easy to use and check from inside. We are very happy campers!
Great Smoker!
I was upgrading from a well built Broil King model that the temperature control went out on and lost all ability to hold temp. I did a ton of research and was very close to buying a Yoder or a Recteq, fine products themselves. I found a video on YouTube though with the Z1100 model with wifi and how it stood out as the most even cooking model in the biscuit test, and it's a little less expensive so I thought I'd give it a try. I have to say this smoker is fantastic. No hot or cold spots at all and temperature control is absolutely amazing. I've done 2 long cooks now on ribs, pork belly, etc..and this units hits temp quickly and just doesn't move. I swear in 6 hours it never varied by more than 2 or 3 degrees from my setting and was usually dead on the 225. I even put two oven thermometers inside to confirm how accurate its thermostat read out was. Amazingly perfect. Easy to assemble, maybe 90 minutes on my own leisurely. This model is quite large amd heavy so a second set of hands is helpful at times but you can manage. Fully insulated, door seal, big hopper, two probes that have also been dead on. Oh, and a pellet dump that some high end models don't have. I also like that the firepot isn't fully in the center, so a little more room to one side for your meats if your concerned, but honestly the diffuser does a great job distributing heat anyways. And the full insulated barrel really helps it hold temp. Getting generous smoke rings and flavor, better than average pellet grills. It maxes at 500 degrees, which isn't as high as some propane grills will go, but not shabby for a pellet grill! It's a winner in my mind. I still have a big Ole stick burner, and there's tines for that, but for every day use and most weekends, this is my go to. Follow burn in process to the letter. I've heard of problems when you don't. It takes a while, several cycles, so 2 or 3 hours, and I smoked empty for an extra hour or two after burning off all the factory oils cause it's pretty rancid smelling as those burn off, but zero problems with it. Brisket is next, and I have confidence! Highly recommend to anyone that's skeptical. I spent 30% less than Recteq model, 100% less than Yoder, and I'm not a penny pincher, I'll spend money on quality, and this thing has delivered everything you could ask for. Good luck and happy smoking!
Great pellet grill!
Installation was pretty straight forward. Pellets that cam with grill burn relatively clean with little clean up. I applied heavy duty foil to drip try and bottom of grill for easy clean up. I have now done a spatchcock turkey, burgers, and a prime rib. All of these were done in December with below freezing conditions. Holds temperature very well even in the cold weather. Everything has come out perfect and tasted great. The WIFI app was easy to install and setup was easy. No issues using my phone to set temps or shut off grill from phone. My only complaint is I wish the temperature probes that come with the grill could be set at temperatures below 160F. Medium rare items at 125-140F you just have to watch the probe temps but can't take advantage of the alert system within the app. Not a huge deal but would have been nice.
Great Pellet Smoker / Grill
I absolutely enjoy cooking on this grill. I replaced my electric smoker with this and does a great job for low and slow, as well as some high heat searing and general grilling. Was able to get sear marks via a reverse smoke / sear on some chicken. Only thing I wish could be changed in the software, is when pressing “prime” that you don’t have to hold the button and could automatically prime the full auger length and expedite getting pellets into the fire pot. I do this now by just holding the prime button on start up for 2 minutes. Works pretty well!
1102B rocks!
This is my second Z Grill as an upgrade. It’s a beast! The insulated/double wall design is phenomenal. 5 degree increments in temp. 2 probes. Bluetooth. I easily fit 16 ears of corn just in the lower rack (left to right) with room for more in front and back. AND super sturdy. Well done!!!
